What it shows you

Which formats it opens
It reads PES, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3 and XXX, plus PEC, HUS, VIP, SEW, U01 and TBF, up to 10 MB. Those are the formats of Brother, Tajima and commercial machines, Janome, Bernina and Melco, Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking, and Singer.
How to open a PES or DST file without software
An embroidery file isn't a picture: it's a list of instructions for the machine. That's why your computer won't open it with a double click. Here you install nothing: drag the file onto the page or pick it from your downloads folder, on your phone too.
If it's a DST, remember that format doesn't store colors. The preview uses suggested colors to tell the parts apart; you choose the threads on the machine.
